Beyond the Barn Workshop Series

Noble SWCD, the Noble County OSU Extension Office, and the Agricultural Navigator are excited to announce two upcoming Beyond the Barn programs designed to support local farm families, young farmers, and producers planning for the future.

The first program, Beyond the Barn: Creating Your Legacy, is a three-part Tuesday night series tailored for young and beginning farmers looking to build a strong foundation for their farm’s future. This series will cover essential topics such as establishing farm values and goals, recordkeeping, taxes, and long-term planning. Sessions will take place on January 20, January 27, and February 3, with February 10 as the calamity day, beginning with dinner at 5:30 PM at the OSU Extension Operations building. Registration is $20 per family, and the deadline to register is January 13.

The second program, Beyond the Barn: Passing Down the Legacy, is also a three-part Tuesday night series, however is more focused on helping farm families start meaningful conversations about succession planning and preparing the next generation. This series will guide families through developing clear roles, expectations, and long-term goals to support a smooth and confident transition. Sessions will be held on February 17, February 24, and March 3 with March 10 reserved for a calamity day, beginning with dinner at 5:30 PM, also at the OSU Extension Operations building in Caldwell. Registration is $20 per family, with a deadline of February 10.

Both programs aim to equip families and new farmers with practical tools, clearer communication strategies, and long-term planning support to help ensure a strong, successful farming future in Noble County. All are welcome to attend, and we encourage those interested to register early. You only need to register for one session to be eligible to attend the other!
