The event is open to pond owners, landowners, farmers, and anyone interested in improving the health and management of their ponds.

Farm ponds can provide valuable benefits for livestock, recreation, wildlife habitat, and fishing, but they often face challenges related to aquatic weeds, algae growth, sediment buildup, and declining water quality. This clinic will provide practical information and real-world demonstrations to help landowners better understand and manage these common issues.

During the evening, attendees will learn how to identify common aquatic plants, pond weeds, and algae species frequently found in farm ponds throughout the area. Discussion will also focus on aquatic herbicide options, proper application timing, and best management practices for controlling unwanted vegetation while maintaining a healthy pond ecosystem.

Representatives from Muck Commanders will provide a live demonstration of aquatic vegetation removal using their Weedo TC 3012 Workboat, allowing attendees to see firsthand how mechanical plant removal can be used as a pond management tool.

The clinic will also cover the important role nutrients play in pond health. Participants will learn how runoff, livestock access, fertilizers, and surrounding land use can contribute to algae blooms and poor water quality, along with management strategies that can help prevent these issues before they become severe.

The event is free to attend, but RSVP is requested by June 9 by calling the Noble SWCD office at 740-732-4318.

Whether your pond is used for livestock, fishing, recreation, or wildlife habitat, this clinic will offer useful information and management strategies to help improve and maintain pond health for years to come.

The Noble Soil and Water Conservation District will host a free Farm Pond
